I love visiting Llanfairfechan beach! When the tide’s out the beach is huge, it’s not that busy, and there is plenty of space to run around on the sand with your pooch. What’s even better, Llanfairfechan beach is it’s open to dogs all year round! It's a fantastic walk and has a beautiful backdrop of luscious green mountains.
The beach is great for a day out or if you’re looking for a stop-gap on the way or back from somewhere.
What’s at Llanfairfechan beach?
Looking out to sea, there are some great views of the Great Orme, Puffin Island, the Anglesey lighthouse and more. The beach is very clean (it’s been awarded a blue flag), and it has a lovely pathway towards Bangor along the promenade. It’s a fantastic place to visit in summer and winter.
There's something for the whole family here, from a beach cafe where you can get a drink to a play area and paddling pool for the kids. The beach is a fantastic size for your dog to get a lot of exercise and playtime in the water.
Little extras
If you’re a family the area also has a playground, a small paddling pool, an area to play tennis or basketball and a small nature reserve, however, dogs must be kept on leads in these areas and are not allowed access to the paddling pool.
Food
Llanfairfechan beach also has a really cute beach café called the Pavilion with a really nice vibe to it. You can read more about the Pavilion Café here
