Is the Bryn Euryn dog friendly?
This place is a perfect off-the-lead walk for dogs! It’s a nature reserve nestled away at the top of Rhos on Sea and is a great hillside (the word 'bryn' means 'hill' in English) walk with a rich
mixture of grass and forests. It offers fantastic views at the top of the summit and is a good workout for both humans and dogs.
Walking around
There are several paths for you to follow, all clearly marked and pretty straightforward. The main two are the summit path, which takes you all the way to the top and the waymarked, circular which takes you around the Bryn through the forest.
If you make it up to the top take a moment to look around and in some stunning views of the countryside
and neighbouring towns such as Mochdre. Here you’ll also be able to look across the seaside – it’s a beautiful view in all seasons.
History of the Bryn Euryn
As you walk around, depending on the path you take, you might find some interesting old ruins called the Llys Euryn, which was a 15th Century house. Or at the top of the summit ruins of a hilltop fort from the 6th century. These little areas of history help to give the Bryn that extra charm…
This is one of my dog's favourite spots and a place where I feel 100% safe letting her roam free – I love taking her in the morning when the forest is cool and smells fresh!
Top tips
On a nice day, it’s the perfect place for a bit of a picnic
On a rainy day, you'll definitely want to wear wellies or waterproof shoes because it can get muddy
If you have children it’s a great place for them to blow off some steam too.
Not feeling a huge walk? No problem, there’s a field at the bottom your dog can run around on, and if they’re feeling social they might make some doggy friends too.
