Time to walk: It depends on how big of a walk you want. If you really wanted a massive walk you could go along to Llandudno or even walk along the bike route to Llanddulas or Abergele, or you can just park up and enjoy the beach where you are.
Busyness: Low - high depending on the time of year, and which part of the beach you’re visiting
Parking – Yes, a mixture of free and paid, on the promenade and in the town
Facilities – Toilets, cafes on the prom and a Colwyn Bay town centre with shops and more very close by. You can even walk to Rhos on Sea for more shops and cafes too.
On or off lead walk – keep your dogs on a lead when walking on the promenade, but you can let your pooch run free on the beach.

Which parts of Colwyn Bay Beach are dog friendly? And when?
There are certain parts of Colwyn Bay beach with restrictions during the summer period (May - September) however, there is still a part that your dog can visit all year around - but note, for the parts of the beach that do not have any restriction in the summer, you’re best checking the tide times to make sure there is sand when you get there.
If you want to visit when you're guaranteed a day of sand for your pooch to play on, visit the parts of the beach when restrictions are lifted (October - April).
The stretch from the Colwyn pier to Porth Eirias is restricted from May - September. Here is a map to show you (below). Please note though, if you're planning on walking to the Rhos on Sea beach from Colwyn Bay, there are restriction in the summer between between Rhos Point and the eastern end of the Cayley Promenade too.
